FAQs

 Where are you located?

We are located in Bloomington, Illinois

Do you have business hours?

We do not have "open and closed" hours.  When an order is received and a pick-up date chosen, your items are placed in the Freezer, Fridge or on a desk in our milking parlor during morning chores so that you can pick up at your convenience anytime that day.

Are your animals ever given hormones or antibiotics?

        No, everything is all natural.

Are your cows grass-fed?

The simple answer is yes. According to guidelines we can advertise our milk and beef as grass-fed. For complete transparency, our dairy cows are on pasture or hay fed, but receive a small amount of grain during milking time. Our beef cattle are on pasture or hay fed and grain finished. All of our animals are fed grain that we grow ourselves and grind and mix on-farm.

Are you organic?

All of our hay and pasture ground is organic. 40% of our farm ground is certified organic. We do not go through the certification process for any of our animals.

What is the best way to ask a question or place an order?

The best way to get ahold of us is by text.  I do try to answer all calls but can't always.  I find it helpful to have the record of a text, as well.  The best number to text is 309-261-2336.

Details when buying 1/4, 1/2 or whole animals:

When purchasing beef or pork in bulk, first we have to have a processing locker and date. We prefer to use and haul to Bloomington Meats or Eureka locker. Then on the scheduled day we will haul your animal in and give them your name and phone number. Once they have a hanging weight, they will call us with the weights and then call you to find out how you would like it processed. (If you haven't heard from them within 2-3 days after your date, please call them.) Then I will contact you with your total due to us. It'll be the hanging weight of your portion (1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or whole) times the price/lb $3.00/lb for pork and $4.00/lb for beef. After the locker is done processing your animal, it can take 2-6 weeks or so, they will call you to let you know it's done and ready for pick-up. Then you will pay the locker whatever your processing fee is. This fee varies by the amount of meat and what processing you had done.
